JAMES BROWN The Payback (Totally bad-to-the-bone 1973 US original 8-track double LP on red Polydor JB Production picture labels with the Afro head image & Sterling machine stamped in the run-outs. The Payback was originally scheduled asthe soundtrack to the blaxploitation movie Hell Up In Harlem but was bizarrely rejected by the director as not James Brown enough! Obviously that man had cloth ears; this is now considered a high point in JBs career & a landmark funk albu m. The pasted gatefold sleeve is Excellent with minimal sign of its age & no deletion cuts. The vinyl discs are Excellent with very few signs of play. Recommended PD2-3007)ÞÞ1. The Payback2. Doing the Best I Can3. Take Some…Leave Some4. S
